Purgatory Week 2026 City Fit t-shirt design of a cartoon skeleton running with two kettlebells through a fiery red cave

Purgatory Week 2026: Six Days of Hard Workouts and a Shirt You Have to Earn

Six days. Really hard workouts. A skeleton on a t-shirt. And a party at the end for everyone who makes it through.

Welcome to Purgatory Week.

If you've been around City Fit Shop this fall, you've probably heard people talking about it in that half-excited, half-terrified voice. That's the right reaction. Here's what it actually is, what you get, and the one date you really don't want to miss.

WHAT IS PURGATORY WEEK?

When people ask me what Purgatory Week is, this is how I describe it:

"Purgatory Week is our big week that members go and do some crazy wacky workouts for six days, and we have a t-shirt and we have an after-party. It's pretty fun."

That's it. That's the event. Six days, different workouts, a shirt, and a party.

"Pretty fun" is doing a lot of work in that sentence. It's also completely true. There's something about doing hard things alongside people you know that turns "why did I sign up for this" into "I can't believe we did that" by the end of the week.

Purgatory Week runs Sunday, October 25 to Friday, October 30, with the after-party on the Friday.

WHY WOULD ANYONE SIGN UP FOR THIS?

Fair question. Here's the honest answer.

Because hard is more fun with your people. You won't be grinding through these workouts alone in a garage. You'll be in class with familiar faces, a coach in your corner, and people who are just as sweaty and suspicious of the whiteboard as you are.

Because it's a reset. October is the month a lot of us start drifting. Busy schedules, shorter days, too much leftover Halloween candy. Six days of showing up gives you a little momentum heading into the rest of the fall.

Because you'll earn something. Not a participation ribbon. A shirt that says you survived Purgatory.

Because there's a party at the end. Friday, October 30: free drinks, snacks, and t-shirt prizes. You've earned it.

👉 Register for Purgatory Week here, and do it by October 18 if you want the shirt.

THE SHIRT (YOU HAVE TO EARN IT)

Let's talk about the shirt, because it's a good one.

This year's design is a skeleton in a red headband, sprinting through a fiery underworld with a kettlebell in each hand. Tongue out. Sweat flying. Zero regrets. It's basically how day five feels.

Here's how it works:

  1. Register by October 18 to be eligible for a shirt.
  2. Complete Purgatory Week.
  3. Wear it proudly and tell everyone what you survived.

Important: October 18 is the last day to register for the shirt. It's not the last day to register for Purgatory Week. If you sign up after the 15th, you're still welcome to take on the challenge, but a shirt isn't guaranteed.

WHAT IT COSTS

  • Members: $19.99 (you need a current City Fit Shop membership or punch pass)
  • Non-members: $149.99 (includes 6 class passes)

For members, that's less than the cost of a takeout dinner for six days of coached workouts, a t-shirt, and a party.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Six workout days: Sunday, October 25 to Friday, October 30
  • How to sign up: fill out the quick registration form
  • After-party: Friday, October 30 at 6:30 pm. Free drinks, snacks, and t-shirt prizes.

NOT SURE YOU'RE READY?

Let's be honest: Purgatory Week is hard. That's kind of the point.

But you won't be doing it alone. If you're nervous, we'll help you. If you do something for the first time, we'll celebrate with you. And if you're not sure whether Purgatory is right for you, talk to one of our coaches before you register. We'll give you a straight answer.
